"I started Designs by Dimension in 2000 as a companion company to WUD Cabinets, the custom cabinet shop on the Island since 1993. I had been working with Richard Bloom, owner of WUD Cabinets since 1997, and we saw the need for an alternative to custom cabinets that would be somewhat more affordable to our customers. There is truly a large difference in the quality and cost of custom shop-built and finished cabinets and site-built and finished cabinets, and a high-end quality of semi-custom cabinets seemed to fill the bill for what we had in mind. I decided I would choose KraftMaid Cabinetry and would be the designer for the semi-custom end of our businesses. I've never been disappointed with that decision!
Initially I designed primarily kitchens which are still my first love, but over the years I have really enjoyed the challenge and fun of designing many other residential and commercial projects for my customers homes and offices. I like to think out of the box and at the same time pay close attention to my customers' lists of "simply must haves" in their projects.
I work closely with the home owners, architects, builders, interior designers and contractors in planning cabinet designs, preparing budget estimates and selecting door styles, finishes and storage solutions that will ensure the highest level of safety, function and form in the finished project.
I always get the home owner or end user involved in this process. There is simply no way I can do my very best design for that person without their input. That's what makes my designs so custom. I can do great designs without the client's input, but why would I want to? It's your project and should reflect your style and personality when it's finished.
Formerly located at 1901 The Strand in Galveston, Hurricane Ike moved me to my new showroom at 910 - 21st (Moody) Street in Galveston. I hated to leave my old office but the new one is lovely, and nothing has changed except the address. You'll still find the same high level of quality and service.
